Eligibility

Eligibility Criteria • To meet the Eligibility for Victoria Wellington excellence scholarship, applicants must: • Be international students paying full international fees. • Be entering their first year of an undergraduate or postgraduate degree at Victoria University of Wellington. • Have received an offer of place from the university (conditional or unconditional). • Not have completed secondary education at a New Zealand school. • Not have completed the English for Academic Purposes (EAP) or Foundation Studies Programme. • Not be a Study Abroad or Twinning student from an overseas partner university. • Not be in the second year of study in the same degree programme at Victoria University of Wellington. Application Process The Victoria Wellington Vice-Chancellor scholarship process involves: 1. Online Application: Complete the online scholarship application by 4:30 pm (New Zealand time) on the closing date. 2. Supporting Documents: Submit the following as part of your application: ∘ A personal statement (up to 500 words) outlining your reasons for studying at Victoria University of Wellington, academic goals, and why you merit the scholarship. Include any leadership roles and community involvement. ∘ Full academic transcripts and relevant documentation. ∘ An offer of place from the university (conditional or unconditional). Additional Information • Accommodation: Scholarship recipients are guaranteed an offer of a place in the university's Halls of Residence, provided they submit an accommodation application by the required deadline. • Concurrent Scholarships: The Tongarewa Scholarship can be held alongside other awards or scholarships. • Tenure: The scholarship is tenable for one year.
